A late post, but we absolutely loved our dinner experience at Mabel's Gone Fishing! We sat at the countertop, which gave us a front-row seat to watch the chefs carefully craft each dish. It was such a treat to see the attention to detail and passion they put into their work. We started with a plate of oysters, which were incredibly fresh and a perfect way to begin the meal. Every dish we tried was outstanding, and it's worth noting that they use locally sourced ingredients--something we truly appreciated. We ended on a sweet note with their Basque cheesecake, and it was the perfect finale to an already amazing meal. If you're in North Park and looking for a place that combines thoughtful preparation with fresh, quality ingredients, Mabel's Gone Fishing is a must-visit.

Oooooo! I love this place. First off I have to say it is way better than eating at Finca. This place is welcoming and delicious - it still feels like you're in North Park and the food is exceptional !!! I have ate here 3 times already and loved it each time ! Would recommend getting wine here !!

This was amazing. We loved every single bite. My wife's favorites were the clams + jamon, swordfish au poivre, and patatas fritas. Mine were the octopus, pan con tomate with boquerones, and stuffed dates. We also really loved the very pistachio-forward gem salad, and both desserts (cheesecake and chocolate mousse). This was really a standout.

Passed by this place few times and always saw long line outside. Finally went for the first time on a Monday. Few seating areas with patio bistro tables outside. Our table were closer to the street. Saw few Empty tables inside but was told they were all reserved. Mostly tapas style servings. Had 2 small tables side by side. Spoke with our server about the concern that the tables may not fit all the dishes we ordered . our server Kenz ( short for McKenzie ) made it happen, lucky! We got a seat inside. Foods were amazing. variety of fresh seafood options that were expertly prepared and bursting with flavors. Case in point is the crispy on the outside , moist meaty inside - fried baja snapper, cooked to perfection . Make sure to order grilled octopus, Aguachile, grilled bass. Amazing place, friendly staff. Reservations Recommended: Given Mabel's popularity, it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially during peak hours. Parking : street parking. Parking structure nearby too. ** shout out to kenz for your excellent service, thank you .

The gin drinks are amazing, so flavorful and different. The in house mackerel on sourdough was a perfect meal with the flavors of the picked peppers and the salty fish. The mussels were very fresh and love the passionfruit vinegar and red pepper sauce that accompany them. The swordfish was a bit rich for my taste, seemed to have a lot of sauce. It was a good meal, but we did have sticker shock. It is a bit pricey for just an everyday meal. Save it for a special occasion!

I visited this restaurant for a girls night :) I recommend making a reservation early because it fills up quick and its a pretty small intimate spot. I got a reservation for friday night at 8pm for 5 people. The staff was sooo friendly, they kept checking on us as we waited for our table to be set up. My friends brought flower bouquets and they even brought out vases so we can put them in water as we ate. They even gave us an extra drink since it was my birthday :) It is a tapas style restaurant so they recommend 2-3 small plates for each person to share for the table. Their menu is seasonal and changes often which I love. You can tell they take great care in their food! I dont remember everything we ordered but I got the ringleader cocktail and it was very yummy. We got the mussels, oysters, and grilled squid salad. I would pass on the grilled squid salad, but everything was very fresh. They also gave us a complimentary slice of cake. It is a bit pricey, but a great ambiance for a special occasion. I will return!
